Driver taken to hospital after fire engine crash at Heathrow Airport
A driver was hospitalised after a crash involving a fire engine at Heathrow Airport. Emergency services assisted at around 9.40am on Monday, February 14 after a Heathrow Airport Fire and Rescue Service vehicle overturned. The vehicle was a fire engine from the private airport service and not London Fire Brigade.
:Storm Eunice severe wind warning for Surrey as gales could cause ‘danger to life’ In a video shared on Twitter, the engine is seen on its side on the runway with various other emergency vehicles nearby. Heathrow Airport continued to run as normal despite the incident.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that they attended the scene and that the driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

“The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution. No reports of any other injuries. No arrests were made.”
Heathrow Airport confirmed that the accident involved one of their airside trucks but said no one was injured as a result. A Heathrow spokesperson said: “Our teams responded to a traffic incident involving one of our airside fire trucks. No passengers have been injured and the airport continues to operate normally.”
