Live traffic and breaking news for Hull and East Yorkshire

The conflict in Ukraine has continued to intensify overnight with Russian forces taking control of the southern port city of Kherson. Intense shelling continues to plague the area around the capital Kyiv with loud explosions shaking the city and a huge Russian column captured on satellite images not far from the city. The 40-mile convoy of military vehicles has stopped some distance from the capital with experts speculating that logistical problems may have halted its progress.

In East Yorkshire and Hull this morning it is a relatively quiet one on the roads with the usual delays heading eastbound on the A63 past St Andrews Quay. Traffic is beginning to build southbound on Holwell Road approaching the Leads Road roundabout and southbound on Beverley Road at the Cottingham Road crossroads and at Sculcoates Lane.

Last night, Hull City Council made a further display of solidarity with the people of Ukraine, lighting up Wilberforce monument blue and yellow.
