Lorry ‘completely destroyed’ in devastating blaze on Yorkshire A road
A lorry was “completely destroyed” after it caught fire while driving on the A59 near Skipton. Crews from Skipton and Harrogate were called to tackle the fire in the Large Goods Vehicle that was carrying wood chippings near Bolton Bridge at 5.48pm yesterday (Thursday). The cab was completely destroyed in the blaze and the trailer suffered 80% fire damage.

In a log on their website, the fire service said: “Crews from Skipton and Harrogate attended a vehicle fire, this was a LGV carryiing wood chippings, the cab was completely destroyed by fire and the trailer suffered 80% fire damage.
Crews used three hose reel jets and five breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.”
