Northampton Saints donations appeal for refugees fleeing conflict
Northampton Saints will be collecting donations for Ukrainian refugees arriving in Western Europe and in urgent need of support. Up to seven million people are expected to flee from Ukraine into neighbouring countries, according to the Times. Refugees could try to enter neighbouring Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia as they seek to escape the Russian invasion.

Items should be dropped off at a truck, donated by Travis Perkins, located outside Main Reception at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens.
Items needed for this humanitarian crisis are as follows:
- Sleeping mats & bags
- Flashlights & batteries
- First aid kits & dressings
- New toothbrushes & toothpaste
- New bottles of shampoo
- Children’s clothes
- Bed linen & blankets
- Towels
- Disposable plates, bowls & cutlery
- Nappies and powdered milk formula
- Sanitary products
- Thermal clothing
- Hot water bottles
Any potential donors should note the club can only accept new or like-new items. It follows on from Northampton volunteers loading up two lorries filled with donations to support those caught up in the conflict. The Daily Mirror reports that one of the latest attacks is a horrifying missile strike that created a terrifying mushroom cloud near Kharkiv.
At least 21 people have been killed and 112 wounded in the shelling of the city. The club has posted about the endeavour on Facebook with many people flooding to support the cause. One person said: “Brilliant well done Saints”
