Brum student and mum’s secret mercy missions in bombed Ukraine cities
A Birmingham student living in war-torn Kyiv has revealed chilling new images of bombed out Ukranian cities after conducting secret mercy missions with his mum. And Tim Gregory has revealed how under-pressure Boris Johnson has now become a hero in his home country after a walkabout with President Zelensky. Tim Gregory, originally from Warwickshire, and his Ukrainian-born mother Anna have been sheltering in their home in Kyiv since the invasion by Russian troops.
But they recently bravely went on mercy missions to deliver supplies including pet food to locals in bombed-out Bucha and Borodyanka, Irpin, and Hostomel. The former Birmingham University student took videos and pictures of the tragic scenes they saw. He said: “It’s much worse than you see on the news.
Teacher awarded nearly GBP1million compensation after assault by pupil “Borodyanka is completely gone, there is no standing building there at all. And the rescue is still ongoing, and still they’re finding people, they’re still digging people out.”
Anna said: “In Borodyanka, you cannot see any life whatsoever. “We’ve only been back a few hours and at the moment we’re feeling a lot of emotions. It’s just terrible.”
Irpin had also suffered huge damage in Russian bombings. Anna said: “You could see the better looking the place was, the more destroyed it was. “Old apartment blocks, built in the 70s, ugly ones, they’re still there.
And beautiful schools and new hospitals were destroyed.”

The mother and son dropped off much-needed dog food in Bucha. Anna said: “The people were quite excited when they saw the dog food. They said there’s enough food for people but not enough for animals.
“So we will probably go back, with a bigger truck. The problem is they’re not letting a lot of people in at the moment, you have to have a certain pass to go through.”
Tim added: “It seems like they’re trying to get electricity back into the city. In some residential areas, every single house is destroyed, it’s not just residential blocks.
“Bridges along the journey we made were all destroyed. We noticed destroyed tanks along the way. “We heard stories that civilians had been targeted.
There had been (Russian ) snipers on roofs shooting civilian cars, – anyone that came along they were shooting at them.” Boris Johnson conducted a secret trip to Ukraine last week. He was seen meeting President Zelensky and the pair went on a walkabout in Kyiv.
Tim says the Tory leader is now seen as a key ally in Ukraine – while facing calls to resign over Partygate fines in the UK. The 20-year-old said: “A lot of people in Ukraine are very grateful to Great Britain. “To see the prime minister walking round the streets of Kyiv was wonderful.
He is very popular here, Boris is our friend.”

Tim’s sisters fled Kyiv as Russia invaded Ukraine in March. Disabled Emma Gregory, 18, and sibling Elena, 23, were in the capital city visiting their mother when Putin’s troops, tanks and airplanes began an all-out assault. Dad Roy, aged 79 and from Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire, told how the girls were forced to flee hours after the invasion began by heading for neighbouring Moldova in a car driven by a family friend.
They eventually arrived at Birmingham Airport almost two days later.
