Dates and times
The evening departure is set to leave from London Victoria at 6.15pm, with a water stop from 7.12pm until 7.27pm and then returning to London Victoria at 9.45pm. The tour is running every Tuesday between May 10 and August 23, so it could make the perfect summer evening to spend with loved ones or friends.
You’ll travel from London and then into the Surrey Hills, where you’re sure to see views of iconic beauty spots such as Box Hill. The literary and historic importance of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty can’t be ignored as you travel throughout the countryside – Jane Austen wrote about Box Hill in her famous novel Emma.
How to book tickets
Ticket prices depend on which dining style you opt for. If you want to go for the Pullman Style Dining, you’ll get to enjoy elegant 1950s carriages that come with wood-panelled walls, table lamps and curtains.
You’ll also get the comfiest seats with a high level of service provided, too. This dining option allows you to enjoy a three-course evening meal. So not only will you get to enjoy the scenery, but you’ll get to have an authentic dining experience too.
Adult tickets for this option are priced at GBP139, with a table for two supplement at GBP20 per person. Premier dining allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds – you’ll be able to look out at the iconic views and a three-course evening meal. You’ll get authentic carriages while you dine and view.
Tickets cost GBP109 with a table for two supplement coming in at GBP20 per person. If you’re not fussed about dining and would prefer to focus on the scenery you’re travelling through, you can opt for standard class, where you’re welcome to bring your own picnic or buy snacks or drinks on board. Tickets for this are slightly cheaper at GBP59 for an adult and GBP45 for children.

Best viewing spots
There are a few potential places you could catch a good sighting of the train as it makes its way through the Surrey Hills. Timings have not been announced, but there are some good places throughout the Surrey Hills that will give you a good view. For example, there are various locations across Box Hill where you could see the train.
There’s the Salomons Memorial viewpoint which, helpfully, looks towards the railway line south of the landmark. As the train leaves to or from London, you could catch a glimpse of it in Malmstone Avenue, Merstham. There’s an elevated patch of grass that’s linked by a public footpath, nearby the M25 footbridge.
If the train passes through Merstham station you could get a good view.
