Wagamama delivery kitchen to open in Huddersfield town centre

Wagamama is opening a new delivery kitchen off Huddersfield town centre to meet the huge demand for the popular pan-Asian food. The opening demonstrates the British company’s confidence after the lockdowns and the need to meet local demand for popular dishes like Katsu curry, tasty ramens and delicious plant-based dishes. And it seems Huddersfield folk can’t get enough of pan-Asian food as the Indian/Chinese Oodles bar which opened to a rapturous reception earlier this year on Westgate showed.

The specially designed kitchen will open for business on Monday, April 11, with Deliveroo, Click + Collect and BOX by Wagamama – the latter being a special lunchtime menu for those working from home or back in the office. :GBP28m to be spent on revamping Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Heckmondwike bus stations To celebrate the launch there will be free delivery for the first week and there will be a special Wagamama sampling truck live in Huddersfield on April 30 and May 3.

The new Wagamama delivery kitchen is located on St John’s Road in Castlegate retail park and will be available for delivery in surrounding areas including Rawthorpe, Primrose Hill, Highfields, Marsh, Birkby and Fartown. Wagamama regional marketing manager Alice Eagle said: “We are so excited to be opening our third Wagamama kitchen in the north of England, after seeing so much success in Leeds and more recently in Preston. Wagamama has been a pillar in the communities around Leeds city centre for over 15 years now and we felt it was time to venture further out and provide the people of Huddersfield with the option to have our bowls delivered direct to their doors.

And in October it announced the launch of new plant-based dishes meaning it is the UK’s first high street restaurant to give plant-based dishes equal share on their menu.

The company has become a popular sight in UK town centres after opening its first doors in London’s Bloomsbury 30 years ago.

Inspired by fast-paced, Japanese ramen bars and a celebration of Asian food, Wagamama burst into life creating a unique way of eating, bringing the fresh flavours of Asia to all.
