Music in the Park set for East Clandon in aid of Sight for Surrey
Music fans can look forward to an evening of “magical music” as the Guildford Lions host Music in the Park in aid of Sight for Surrey. Set in the beautiful grounds of Hatchlands Park, East Clandon, the evening event will take place on Sunday, June 12 and will feature songs from the Queen’s 70-year reign.

Success at Reigate & Redhill Music and Drama Festival’s first week

Twenty choirs descended on Reigate Park Church in Surrey last Tuesday, making for an exuberant start to the Reigate & Redhill Music and Drama Festival. All performances were enjoyed but success on this occasion went to Reigate St Mary’s Lower School Choir (Infants), Sandcross School Junior Choir (Juniors up to Year 4) and St Francis KS2 Choir, who also won the English Arts Chorale Cup (Juniors up to Year 6). Guildford Cathedral’s 60th anniversary finale concert announced
The finale to Guildford Cathedral’s 60th anniversary celebrations has been announced with composer and conductor John Rutter conducting the cathedral’s choir at a special concert.
Guildford Cathedral Choir in Surrey, will be performing the ‘Gift of Life’ at the concert, which takes place at the cathedral on Saturday, May 21 at 7.30pm. To read the story in full, click here.
Runnymede Hospital helps Ukraine hospitals with urgent supplies
A Ukrainian consultant urologist surgeon practicing in the UK, Dr Sergey Tadtayev, has teamed up with hospital operator, Circle Health Group and Runnymede Hospital in Surrey to deliver over 110 tonnes of urgent medical supplies across Ukraine. In response to direct requests from Ukrainian doctors, the hospital has worked with the Ukrainian doctors’ union (Ukraine Medical Association) and the British Red Cross to identify needs in war-hit hospitals, whilst Sergey has galvanised his Circle colleagues to gather 10-truck loads including 200 pallets of vital kit and medical supplies from across the Group’s national network of 53 hospitals.

ACS Cobham hosts novel beach volleyball tournament for schools

Students from across England got the chance to compete in the UK’s first beach volleyball tournament for independent schools. The event on May 6 and hosted by ACS International School Cobham, Surrey, was held at the Barn Elms Sports Centre, where students also received exclusive coaching from England’s highest-ranking beach volleyball players, Joaquin Bello, Javier Bello, Jess Grimson and Daisy Mumby; all of whom are due to compete at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
