Crash causes traffic delays after driver suffers ‘medical incident’
There were traffic delays in Bromsgrove earlier today following a crash involving a driver who suffered a medical incident at the wheel. Shortly after 8am on Monday (June 20), police, paramedics and fire crews were all called to a two vehicle collision on the A448, a major route between the Worcestershire towns of Bromsgrove and Kidderminster. Shocking pictures taken by a witness show one of the vehicles involved on its side near the junction with Church Lane.
Police were forced to close the road following the crash, causing traffic to build up and long delays in the area. On arrival, the ambulance crew treated a man at the scene who is believed to have suffered a medical incident while driving. He was taken to Alexandra Hospital in Redditch for treatment while a second patient was treated for minor injuries.
