Rygor Commercials breaks new ground in Reading
Award-winning Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle Dealer group, Rygor Commercials, is delighted to announce that works have started on its custom-designed, new site at the locally acclaimed Worton Grange industrial park in Reading. Via a robust tendering process, Rigg Construction won the tender to be the main contractors on this GBP2million project. Rygor managing director, Tim Stacey, confirmed that he was looking forward to the start of this exciting new development for Rygor, saying:
“We are delighted to announce that we will be working with Rigg Construction to bring this industry-leading new commercial vehicle Dealership to life, and are confident the new Rygor Reading branch will be a fantastic addition to our business.
We invest significantly in our branches, so we can continue to provide the very best customer experience and a great working environment for our team. We are constantly investing in facilities, technology, and our incredible people, and we are so proud of the team we have in place at Rygor Reading, who between them bring decades of experience to the company and our customers. They are extremely experienced, and I know they too are looking forward to the start of an exciting new chapter at our new branch.”
Rygor’s newest site will feature a bright and open van sales showroom, offering the full range of new and used Mercedes-Benz vans, including the eSprinter Panel Van, the eVito Panel Van, the eVito Tourer and the eCitan, all designed to help keep businesses moving into a fully connected, low-carbon future.
In addition to its sales showroom, the new 44,000 sq. ft site accommodates superb, dedicated truck and van workshop areas. The truck workshop area will include two pits with one ATF lane, tacho facility and extensive hard standing in the workshop area, offering ample space for manoeuvrability for even the largest of trucks. From a van perspective, there will also be a MOT lane as well as a ‘fast fit’ area, which will focus on express maintenance, such as wiper blade changes, tyre tracking and wheel changes.
This is all in addition to making both van and truck workshops ready to fully maintain electric vehicles (including the FUSO eCanter, the Mercedes-Benz eEconic, and the forthcoming Mercedes-Benz eActros) an area of aftersales care and maintenance which will increase in prominence as the Rygor business continues to invest in an electrical and greener future. Customers will continue to benefit from the expertise Rygor Reading is known for, with no extra impact on their carbon footprint, fuel tank or valuable time, as the new site is just a two-minute drive to J11 of the M4 and conveniently located just a short way from Rygor’s current Reading site. This significant investment demonstrates Rygor’s commitment to Setting Standards within the commercial vehicle industry by being a rewarding, reliable and respectful company.
When the new site opens at the end of this year, it is sure to impress new and existing customers with its bold, sleek look and impressive facilities. Sean Joyce, Rygor aftersales director, said:
“We look forward to being able to continue to offer our customers in the Reading area award-winning aftersales care and customer service, at our brand-new site. With its increased space and modern facilities, we will be able to maintain more vehicles at any one time, ensuring maximum uptime for both our truck and van customers, as well as providing vehicle maintenance at the most convenient times for them and their business.
We keep our customers on the road by keeping them at the heart of everything we do. From the first contact to the successful completion of a first-fix visit, our customers depend on Rygor to keep their businesses moving forward through reliable aftersales care and maintenance.”
John Keogh, Rygor sales director, said:
“Our new Reading site will be a fantastic space in which to showcase the range of Mercedes-Benz Vans and eVans. It will also provide our expert sales team with the perfect venue to work with our customers to offer them vehicle solutions to meet their business needs.
We are delighted that Rigg Construction will be laying the foundations and raising the walls, as Rygor builds on its new and existing customer relationships in the Reading area.”
Rygor Reading’s existing site at Rose Kiln Lane continues to Set Standards for customers in the surrounding area while work gets under-way on this industry leading development, and its team will make the move to their new facilities in late 2022.
