Leading Hungarian logistics provider, Waberer’s, has selected DAF Trucks for the delivery of its first fully electric heavy-duty distribution vehicle. The DAF CF Electric tractor will clock up to 500 zero-emission kilometres a day in and around Budapest. It is the first DAF CF Electric to be delivered in Central Europe.
To minimise its emissions, Waberer’s recently ordered 450 New Generation DAF XF tractors. With the new DAF CF Electric, Waberer’s once again underlines the fact that it values the importance of reducing its environmental footprint. In 2018, DAF was the first European truck manufacturer to introduce a fully electric distribution truck.
The CF Electric – available as a 4×2 tractor and a 6×2 rigid – has been developed in response to the rising demand for better air quality and lower CO2 emissions in the transportation sector. Thanks to smart planning and fast charging, the DAF CF Electric is cable of cover hundreds of ‘zero-emission’ kilometres per day. Barna Erdelyi, a member of the board at Waberer’s says:
“We have decided to embark on the path of going green. Our fleet expansion is the next milestone on this route and this fully electric vehicle will not be the last.
Waberer’s is committed to delivering durable and sustainable logistics solutions. Fully electrical trucks offer an opportunity for the transportation sector to play its part in dealing with the challenges of global warming and local air quality.”
Waberer’s DAF CF Electric will initially be put into operation in and around the Hungarian capital of Budapest for the transportation of all kinds of goods. Richard Zink, DAF director Marketing & Sales and Member of the Board of Management states:
“DAF has been supplying fully electric trucks for years, resulting in a vast real-life experience.
In addition to helping our customers to find the right electric truck for their specific application, we also offer them an integrated solution, including efficient charging systems and advanced route simulation programmes to optimise the company’s day-to-day business.”
