Long delays expected as three lanes shut on M1 in Northamptonshire due to lorry fire

A lorry fire has caused three or four lanes to close on the northbound carriageway between junction 16 for Daventry and junction 17 for the M45 today (July 12). Traffic is at a standstill while fire crews deal with the incident.

National Highways says congestion is now backed up to junction 15 ahead of the closure. The agency expects this to add around an hour and half onto journey times.
