Man dies in horror M18 crash that shut motorway for hours

Police have confirmed that a 41-year-old man has died in a five-vehicle collision on the M18 in South Yorkshire. Emergency services were called to the M18 northbound at 5.02pm yesterday afternoon (25 July 2022), to reports that three articulated lorries, two cars and a transit van had collided, on the approach to Junction 2 for Rotherham. A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “The driver of one lorry, a 41-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the lorry driving immediately prior to the incident to get in touch, particularly if you have dashcam footage.
