Palletline Whitehead celebrates FORS Bronze Accreditation

Palletline Whitehead has been awarded Bronze accreditation under the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) for the second year running. The accreditation follows an extensive re-approval audit which highlighted the company’s success in meeting the FORS criteria, adhering to best practice to achieve fleet safety, ensuring its vehicles are equipped with the necessary safety devices, and driver safety – ensuring drivers are sufficiently trained. The accreditation also recognised Palletline Whitehead’s efforts in reducing its impact on the environment.

As part of the audit Palletline Whitehead was asked to demonstrate its operational systems, procedures and documentation. Servicing the South London postcode areas of CR, SM, SE, SW and KT, Palletline Whitehead operates independently, employing a team of 16 employees and operates a fleet of 12 vehicles which are DVS and FORS Bronze compliant.  Achieving bronze accreditation demonstrates Palletline Whitehead’s compliance with the latest legislation from TFL, which currently requires every vehicle in the city weighing more than 3.5 tonnes to be fitted with: Class V and Class VI mirrors that give drivers a broader view of both pedestrians and cyclists around their vehicle.

FORS auditors were satisfied Palletline Whitehead met the necessary requirements and once again awarded Bronze status in recognition of the company’s continued commitment to sustainable distribution in London and throughout the UK and beyond. Ryan Street is the Depot Manager of Croydon-based Palletline Whitehead which is part of Palletline Logistics. He said:

“My team and I are delighted to have once again achieved FORS Bronze status which is testament to our ongoing efforts in raising the safety standards within our fleet.

The Palletline name is synonymous with high standards and being accredited with FORS Bronze demonstrates our commitment.”

A national voluntary scheme open to operators of vehicle fleets, such as HGVs or passenger vehicles, FORS strives to promote best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection.

Ryan Street said Palletline Whitehead is now aiming for FORS Silver accreditation as part of its continuous improvement plan.
