Boughey Distribution & Windfall Logistics announce new partnership

Cheshire-based Boughey Distribution has entered into a new partnership with FMCG supply chain specialist, Windfall Logistics of St Albans, to provide an enhanced service for around 100 of Boughey’s existing customers. The link with Windfall Logistics will provide the brands with a dedicated one-stop route to market service which will include access to trading accounts, consolidated and economic transportation, standardisation and automation of order placing; management of sales order processing, invoicing and credit control; and reduced procurement costs and order cycle times. Windfall is a long-term customer of Boughey, with the company already providing storage and distribution services for over 40 of Windfall’s customers. As Angela Carus, Boughey’s Managing Director explains, the two companies recognised an opportunity to forge a formal partnership to benefit start-up and developing brands looking for FMCG expertise:

“In working with Windfall for a number of years and appreciating the excellent service and expertise they offer to growing brands, we decided to get our heads together to look at how we might work more closely.

For customers, the primary benefit is that they will work directly with Windfall to receive a total service to market their brands efficiently and cost-effectively and, most importantly, gain from its strong relationships with many of the UK’s most prominent supermarkets, retailers and wholesalers. We will remain as the key transport and distribution provider for Windfall’s customer base, and the consolidation will ensure many efficiencies from our side. These will include the need for fewer trucks being required across the whole account, therefore reducing carbon emissions to support the environmental agenda and satisfy retailer audits; and the reduction in fewer pallets due to combined ordering from Windfall as brands can be stored and transported on shared pallets, subject to retailer requirements.

More broadly, it will mean more products delivered and less fresh air on trailers.”

Windfall Logistics’ CEO, Angelos Panayiotou, said:

“We have been working with many successful brands since we were established 15 years ago and through our new partnership with Boughey, we’re really looking forward to supporting the growth of more businesses.

Our niche service is designed to take away complex and time-consuming tasks so that our customers can concentrate on developing their brands.

Joining our current portfolio of over 50 clients will present many opportunities for economies of scale for the new customers.  We are all about building long-term and successful partnerships with our clients.”
