Stormzy hires the whole of Thorpe Park for his birthday and has McDonald’s

Grime artist Stormzy recently celebrated his 29th birthday by repeating his exact party plans from last year. The Vossy-Bop rapper hired out Thorpe Park and treated his friends with McDonald’s food trucks to celebrate. Partygoers including Amelia Dimoldenberg, AJ Tracey, Michael Dapaah and Munya Chawawa were all present for the star-studded birthday bash.

However, this is not the first time that Stormzy has shut down an amusement park for his own birthday. Last year the rapper hired out Thorpe Park in Surrey – and he must have loved it so much that he’s decided to do it again. The fast food chain McDonald’s posted Stories online to its Instagram which showed a menu saying: “We’re here serving up McFlurry, McNuggets and World-Famous Fries to celebrate Big Mike’s Birthday Bash.”

It’s also not the first time McDonald’s food trucks have been spotted at celebrity birthday parties. Mark Wright recently hired a McPlant van to feed builders who were working on his house. Stormzy – real name Michael Owuo – shot to fame in 2015 with his first soundtrack, ‘Shut Up.’ He has since released numerous albums and famously headlined Glastonbury Festival in 2019.

Throughout his successful career, he has changed the way people view grime musicians. He contributed to a charity single five years ago about the Grenfell fire tragedy, which went straight to number one in the UK charts.

He also recently received an honorary degree from Exeter University this year. He was awarded the degree in recognition of his “remarkable contribution to society and extraordinary talent.”
