Teacher Chloe Morrison killed after being hit by lorry’s stabiliser leg
A nursery teacher was thrown 35 metres along a pavement after the stabiliser leg on a lorry struck her on the back, dealing fatal multiple fractures.
Chloe Morrison, 26, was walking with her mother near Drumnadrochit when she was hit by the outrigger leg, which was fully extended with the truck travelling at 49mph.
She died from injuries to her head, chest, abdomen and pelvis, with fractures to her skull, vertebrae, ribs and brain stem.
John O’Donnell, 52, from Inverurie, had not been licensed or trained to operate the lorry loader crane, which was returning from Kilmuir Cemetery on Skye to his employer’s base in Oldmeldrum.
He denies causing her death by dangerous driving on October 25, 2019.
