Boris Johnson mocked as food truck parks up outside Downing Street with a slogan about the PM telling too many “porkies”
Just hours before the Prime Minister is set to leave office, a Quorn food truck has driven past parliament and 10 Downing Street with text mocking the departing leader for telling too many “porkies”. Poking fun at Johnson’s reputation for fibbing, the text on the meat-free food brand’s truck read “No More Porkies” and was serving up pork-free ham sandwiches to passers-by. Accused of misleading Parliament and the House of Commons, Johnson resigned from office on 7th July and will be departing number 10 on 6th September following the result of the new leadership vote.
To celebrate the end of his “porkies” Quorn’s pork-free sandwich truck toured Whitehall, Downing Street, Parliament Square and Westminster Bridge. Londoners were handed delicious, meat-free sandwiches free of charge, filled with Quorn’s new deli slices: Yorkshire Ham style Slices and Finely Sliced Ham Style slices. The brand-new, entirely vegan range is available in Yorkshire Ham, Finely Sliced Ham, Roast Beef and Roast Chicken Style flavours, enabling people to tuck into a deliciously meat-free meal without missing out on the taste and texture of the usual deli meat favourites.
Made from Quorn’s unique super-protein, mycoprotein, the Deli slices are high in protein, a great source of fibre and low in saturated fat, perfect for enjoying at lunchtimes or even at ‘work parties’ and office leaving dos.
Those who want to celebrate the end of porkies at home can find the new Deli slices in the chilled aisles across Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose, and selected Co-op stores in September RRP GBP3.00.
