Driver escapes unhurt as car bursts into flames on Coventry street
A driver escaped unhurt after a car burst into flames on a Coventry street. Fire crews were called to Electric Wharf on Wednesday, November 2 at around 2.30pm to reports of the car fire. Photos take by witnesses show a car lit up in flames with black clouds of smoke billowing into the sky.
One fire truck and four fighters arrived to the scene within three minutes. The driver of the vehicle was present. They were not in the car at the time of the fire and managed to get away safely.

Images from the aftermath of the fire show the hood of the vehicle charred up with black soot. There were no reports of injuries. West Midlands Fire Service said: “At 2.30pm on Wednesday 2 November, West Midlands Fire Service were called to reports of a car fire on Electric Wharf, Coventry.
“Firefighters from Coventry Fire Station were on scene in under three minutes and found a car well alight in the road with the driver safely away from the vehicle.
The fire was quickly extinguished, with firefighters using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.” The cause of the fire is not yet known.
