As a result of an expansion of its business, Swindon-based FMT Logistics Ltd has taken delivery of its first Renault Trucks T520 High. Supplied by Sparks Commercials, the new Renault truck has been added to the 23-strong tractor unit fleet and will be working on FMT Logistics’ growing number of contracts pulling refrigerated trailers across the UK and Europe. FMT Logistics Ltd Director, Filipe Mendes explains why he opted for Renault Trucks:
“We were in the market for a new vehicle and after speaking to Roger Millet at Sparks Commercials and listening to what he could offer, it made sense to try out the T High.
We always have two or three different manufacturers on our fleet and we are very happy with Renault Trucks and the service they and Sparks Commercials provide.”
The 13 litre T520 High 6×2 pusher with Optidriver AT 2612 gearbox and automatic clutch provides a maximum torque of 2550 Nm. The vehicle comes with a raft of optional extras including roof mounted air horns, roof deflector, heated luxury seat, 40L ‘quiet’ fridge, one-touch electric windows, leather steering wheel, ROADPAD+ and ECO cruise control with Optiroll. Filipe Mendes explains how the new vehicle fits into his operation:
“The T High is specifically designed for the type of work FMT Logistics does.
There is plenty of space in the cab and we have specified the optional extras on top to ensure the driver has everything he needs to be comfortable especially as he is out on the road all week. We have received excellent initial feedback and have a further two T Highs on order. In our four years of trading, we have seen massive growth in our business and have been fortunate enough to have survived a pandemic and continue to attract new business.
This has only been possible due to the hard work of all our drivers, planners and everyone involved with FMT Logistics.
Like all businesses the increased costs on fuel and equipment is challenging but with such a great team and vehicles such as the T High, we are confident that our business will continue to flourish.”
