Squally’ showers to hit Cov and Warks as temperatures plunge

‘Squally’ rain showers are set to hit Coventry and Warwickshire as temperatures plunge to -4C across UK. The Met Office says a band of heavy showers will sweep across our region tomorrow. It comes as the nation continues to be hit with heavy rain with the Mirror reporting that some parts of the UK will experience a sharp fall in temperatures to -4C.

Met Office forecasts for Coventry and Warwickshire show the rainy start to today will give way to some much-needed sunshine and glorious blue skies. It will become drier but with this comes colder weather with minimum temperatures of 2C this evening. But tomorrow the rain will be back, with some force, with ‘squally’ showers set to hit in the afternoon.

West Midlands weather forecast

Today Widespread heavy rain clearing to the northeast by the afternoon. Mostly dry through the afternoon with some sunny spells, but still feeling fairly chilly in the wind.

Staying fairly breezy overnight, but winds becoming light in some sheltered areas with a risk of mist or fog forming. Minimum temperature 2 ?C. Thursday

A bright and chilly morning before a band of squally rain moves eastward during the afternoon. Winds easing and becoming dry with clear spells again into the evening. Maximum temperature 10 ?C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Feeling pleasant in the sunshine on Friday after a chilly morning with some isolated fog patches. Further heavy rain Saturday afternoon.

Drier and brighter on Sunday.
