Holidays are here as Coca Cola Christmas truck visits Coventry
The festive season came early to the city as families flocked to see the Coca Cola Christmas truck today at Cross Point in Walsgrave. The huge and instantly recognisable red lorry was parked up throughout Thursday (December 8) outside the Brewers Fayre behind the Showcase Cinema. Hundreds braved the cold weather and wrapped up tight to have their picture taken by the famous red truck, as well as there chance to grab a free can of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar whilst waiting in the queue.
Among them was mum Susie who came with her two young daughters for a day out. “We saw the truck and thought it would be great to see what’s going on and the kids got excited to see Santa on the truck,” she said. The queue was long for the first hour of opening, with many children of all ages excited and full of smiles. The bright, red truck with Santa Claus holding a classic bottled Cola fascinated the young children. Amy arrived with her children aged five and seven and said: “It’s a good location to have the truck in this open space – we liked how quick and easy it was and who doesn’t love a free Coke?”
Once getting to the front, visitors took pictures in front of the truck and also had the opportunity to take photos on the free photobooth. Many families took multiple images on their phones and visitors also had the chance to get a personalised bottle that will be delivered to their homes within seven days. Workers at the Brewers Fayre restaurant didn’t want to miss out on the fun and came outside to join in.
