Jamie Oliver tells fans to cook dinner part 15 days before Xmas

Jamie Oliver says it’s almost time to cook a key Christmas dinner ingredient – a mere 15 days before the big event – but fans say they’re getting it done even earlier. For the Naked Chef star, the date of December 10 has a special meaning – it’s Gravy Day. He thinks it’s the perfect time to get the gravy on – and reckons it makes the big event go a lot more easily and reduces the stress.

In a post on his Facebook page, the chef said: “IT’S TWO WEEKS until Get Ahead Gravy Day 2022!!

10th December! “Make sure you block it out in your calendars as the day to make the BEST gravy EVER ready for the big day. We’ve been doing this for 4 years now and loads of you know it never disappoints!!”

For some fans it can’t come soon enough – in fact some said their gravy was already underway. Briana Forster said: “Sorry Jamie I had to make it early! Triple batch today and in to the freezer – make it every year – it’s the best!” Nicola Gowland added: “I’m actually making mine today x”

However others weren’t convinced it was necessary. Helen Conte said: “Way too much faff. Stock from the turkey.

Add a bit of Yorkshire pudding batter, some boiling water, gravy browning and port- jobs a goodun.” But many fans have tried the method and swear by it. Justine Clarke said: “Been doing this for about 8 years.

Best gravy ever, it makes the Christmas Dinner.” Sue Mitchell added: “Yummy..I like to get my roast potatoes prepped, par boil & frozen also, breadcrumbs blitz & frozen for bread sauce, cranberry sauce made 2/3 weeks before…..not that Christmas is too stressful now it’s only 3/4 of us..” Claire Sheldon said: “I love this gravy make it every Xmas and store it in my freezer ready for the big day !!” Nancy Mclean added: “Love this idea! Made it last year and I will make it again this year!

You never have too much gravy!”
