Peter said after announcing the tour: “It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy, and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now.” And after seeing the demand for the shows, admitted he was “blown away” by the fan reaction. Peter’s 2010 tour still officially ranks with the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest selling comedy tour of all time which played to over 1.2m people. Fans were pleased to hear that his “Better Late Than Never” tour would be sold at the same price as that 2010 tour – with tickets from GBP35.

The funnyman cancelled his last tour in December 2017, citing “unforeseen family circumstances” before returning to the stage in August 2021 for two charity events to raise money for Laura Nuttall, a then-20-year-old with an aggressive type of brain cancer called glioblastoma multiforme. In January 2021 he appeared on BBC Radio 2 to chat to Cat Deeley about his love of music, mixtapes and the musical Mamma Mia. He also made a surprise appearance at a charity screening of his series Car Share in 2018.

Peter is back on stage tonight and here is all you need to know about the shows:

What time will Peter Kay be on stage?

What to expect

The majority of fans have been kept guessing when it comes to what can be expected from upcoming shows. However, a select few fans have had a sneak preview when Peter played a series of top secret warm-up shows at The Lowry’s studio space in recent months. Those who attended had to leave their phones at the door before entering, but those who have spoken about it afterwards have promised that those attending the tour are in for a ‘real treat’.

One woman said: “It was amazing, a really great night, there was lots of new material and then some nostalgic classic lines thrown in there as well, some great nods to the past and the crowd were really happy with that. In the encore he brought back an old favourite sketch and it still had the crowd creasing.” She added: “The crowd gave two standing ovations and it was so well deserved.

People going to see the tour are in for a real treat.”

Tickets still available?

Within minutes on going on sale, the two opening nights in Manchester sold out. So did many others of the eventual 110 dates added over the next three years, but there is still some availability for shows towards the end of the run in 2025, the MEN reports.
