The Coventry and Warwickshire areas entitled to £25 heating payment

Freezing temperatures are predicted for the coming weeks in Coventry and Warwickshire as Arctic winds land in the UK. The Met Office has warned that temperatures could reach as low -5C and snow could be seen in parts of the country next week. If temperatures are recorded at freezing or below for seven consecutive days in a row, then cold weather payments will instantly be sent to thousands of people on low incomes.

This includes anyone who claims Pension Credit, Income support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Universal Credit or Support for Mortgage Interest. However, weather stations which serve parts of Warwickshire are located as far away as Bedfordshire and Herefordshire. The Department for Work and Pensions has released a tool to check which weather station records temperatures for where you live and if you are entitled to the GBP25 payment.
