The Herts areas issued with 24-hour warning for snow and ice
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice over 24 hours in Hertfordshire. Gardens are already covered in frost and the roads are sprinkled with ice, so residents should be cautious when travelling this weekend. The weather warning will begin from 9am on Sunday, December 11 until 9am on Monday, December 12 but bands of snow and sleet are predicted to hit throughout the next few days. The Met Office website reads: “Snow may push in across parts of east and southeast England, leading to a risk of travel disruption, especially on Monday morning.”
Areas in East Herts such as Bishops Stortford, Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, Watford and more could all see snow this weekend. The Met Office has recommended a few tips for residents to avoid any nasty falls in the cold weather, these include clearing snow and ice from driveways.
