Wanted man arrested and car seized after police descend on travellers site
A “wanted” man has been arrested by officers from GMP following a raid at a travellers site in Bolton. Police seized a Mercedes 4×4 which is believed to have been used for a crime, from the site in Farnworth this morning (December 7). Enquiries around those crimes are said to be ongoing, with one male being taken into custody, the force said.
READ MORE: Man arrested as woman fighting for life after being hit by van on busy road In a post on Twitter, GMP Bolton South said: “Officers from the Farnworth Neighbourhood team are conducting a warrant on Moses Gate travellers site this morning.” In an update posted a short time later, they added: “One vehicle used in crime has been recovered and a wanted male has been arrested as a result of our warrant this morning.

“This vehicle, believed used in crime, is being recovered from the travellers site this morning.
Enquiries around those crimes are ongoing.” Pictures from the scene show a major police presence, with multiple police cars and raid vans parked near to the travellers site. Officers posted an update picturing the Mercedes vehicle being loaded on to the back of a truck to be towed away.
No further details about the nature of the arrest have been released.
