COMMUNITY TRUST LINK UP WITH POWER TECHNOLOGY LEADER TO BENEFIT EXTRA TIME HUBS
Cummins have begun their partnership with the Extra Time Hubs group which will run until September 2023. Their support will allow for the already popular programme to bring external providers in to work alongside the current delivery staff & volunteers. These will be local providers to Northamptonshire as well Cummins staff volunteering their time to attend and support the programme.
Cummins Inc. is an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and distributes engines, filtration, and power generation products. Cummins also services engines and related equipment, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission control, electrical power generation systems, and trucks. Having met with the Community Trust at Sixfields Stadium they have agreed to donate GBP5000 through their Global funding scheme to support the ongoing project.
EEEC Co-ordinator at Cummins, Michael Fenn said “At Cummins, we look to provide Community support in three different areas around our local areas; Education, Environment and Equal Opportunity. When we found out about the work which is completed at the Extra Time Hub sessions to help tackle loneliness for the elderly we were more than happy to support this as it falls under one of our 3 target areas. As well as providing a grant for the project we will be sending volunteers to help at the sessions as well on a regular basis.
We are looking forward to working alongside NTFC Community Trust with this great project.” Damon Fox – Business Development Manager at the Northampton Town Community Trust: “It is great that Cummins have recognised that we are more than just football in supporting our local community. Their support will allow our already popular programme to attract more outside providers to deliver activities to our regular attendees.
These will not only be on site but offsite too which in some cases would not be accessible to our participants. The other positive side is the support we will receive from the Cummins staff who have a scheme to allow their staff to volunteer on Community Projects and we hope this will be part of a long-term relationship. Thank you to Cummins for your support.”
