Yorkshire man found dead underneath his recovery truck is named by police
A recovery truck driver who was found dead underneath his vehicle on the Elland exit slip of the A629 Calderdale Way on Thursday, January 12 has been named.
54-year-old John Brown, from Elland, was found under his Renault recovery truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene, following an incident sometime between 10.15pm on Wednesday, January 11 and 1.30am on Thursday, January 12. Police do not believe any other vehicles were involved and have now re-issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police have released details of a man who died following an incident with his vehicle in Elland and reissued an appeal for witnesses. Also read: Man rushed to hospital after being hit by car on A57 Manchester Road in Sheffield “John Brown, who was 54 and from Elland, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, which occurred on the Elland exit slip of the A629 Calderdale Way sometime between 10.15pm on Wednesday, 11 January and 1.30am on Thursday, 12 January.
“His body was found under his Renault recovery truck. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved. Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team are continuing to investigate what happened and would like to speak to anyone who saw Mr Brown by his truck between the times above, or anyone with dash cam footage that will assist the investigation.”
