A12 to shut overnight as major road reconstruction works continue

The A12 will be partially shut overnight once again as carriageway repairs continue. The northbound carriageway of the A12 will be shut at junction 25 to 26 as part of carriageway reconstruction work.

The junction has been shut at Marks Tey since March 10 and is expected to run until 6am on Monday, April 3. This means that the carriageway will also be shut on Wednesday, March 22 as part of the three week project.

The road will close at 9pm and reopen at 5am the following morning. Motorists will be diverted through a fully signed diversion route during the overnight closures.

Vehicles will be diverted off at junction 25 and along the B1408 London Road, then onto the A1124 where they can re-join the A12 at junction 26 Stanway.

A spokesperson for National Highways said: “We only close roads when necessary and this work is being carried out overnight when the road is typically at its quietest, to keep disruption to a minimum. We appreciate your patience while we complete our important work.
