This is the moment a suspected drug driver was arrested after trying to escape from police in Lincolnshire. Officers said it took just four minutes to catch the suspect who was found hiding near fields in Skegness ^[1] in the early hours of Thursday morning (March 30).

Footage released by Lincolnshire Police’s ^[2] drone team showed the driver – who had reportedly driven off from officers before ditching their vehicle – crouched down in what is thought to be some sort of ditch or stream.

Two officers can be seen walking towards the suspect, who then stands up, seemingly realising they’re surrounded. A third officer then turns up and the driver is led away towards the police car.

The Lincolnshire Police Drones Twitter account posted to say they were arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for officers, driving under the influence of drugs and driving without insurance.

The tweet, shared alongside the video, read: “ARREST: At 04:17 this morning a driver failed to stop for @LincsPolice in @SkegnessPolice area. 4 mins after running from the vehicle our drone team had *eyes* on and guided *police* in to make the arrest. Fail To Stop, No Insurance, Driving Under Influence Drugs + Inc 35 30/03/23.”
