Driver in ‘life threatening condition’ as M25 reopens after crash
The driver of a car involved in a crash on the M25 has been left in “life threatening” condition, says the Met Police.
Heavy traffic and queues built up this morning (Tuesday, March 28) after a crash left the motorway closed for more than 10 hours. Firefighters had to release one person who was trapped after two cars and a lorry collided between junction 14 at Heathrow and junction 15 for the M4.
The road[1] has now reopened after 10 hours. It was shut clockwise so the police could conduct accident investigation work, and the roads were expected to remain closed during the morning “peak” times, according to traffic data company, Inrix.
Three vehicles, the lorry and two cars, crashed at around 11.30pm on Monday (March 27). A diversion[3] was put into place, Inrix said: “Hollow Triangle signs, take the A3113 from the roundabout towards Heathrow, then left towards Colnbrook, the A4 west towards Slough, and the M4 back to the M25.”
Traffic was also “heavy” on the diversion, and also along the slip road to Heathrow, says Inrix.
