Police close busy road after two-car crash as drivers asked to find …

Police closed a busy road on Tuesday evening following a two-car crash.
Officers were called to a collision on West View Road, in Hartlepool[1], involving two vehicles. Police could be seen diverting traffic as a group of young onlookers gathered at the scene.
Cleveland Police[2] released a statement on Twitter urging drivers to find an alternative route whilst the incident was dealt with. A force spokesperson said: "The A179 and Coast Road is closed following a collision on West View Road.
"The incident involved two vehicles and emergency services are currently on scene.
"Drivers are urged to avoid the area and seek an alternative route."
Teesside Live visited the scene on Tuesday evening and saw a black car being taken away by a recovery truck. The front of the car was heavily damaged.
A police car was stationed at the scene blocked access to the road. It is understood the road has since reopened.
