A 13-year-old boy who was left critically injured after being hit by a grit lorry earlier this month[2] has been released from hospital, Gwent Police has confirmed.

The incident happened on the Lansbury Park Distributor Road at around 8.20am on Thursday March 9.

The grit lorry driver, a 36-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention.

He was later released by police under investigation[3].

The Lansbury Park Distributor Road between Bedwas Bridge roundabout and the turn-in into Rudry was closed for around 24 hours after the incident.
