Train services across West Yorkshire[1] are affected this morning as emergency services deal with an incident.

Northern confirmed the incident has taken place near Sowerby Bridge.

All lines are blocked in both direction, as of 8am on Friday (March 31).

Services will be delayed or cancelled at this moment in time, a spokesperson for Northern said.

Road transport has been requested and Northern will provide more information as soon as this has been confirmed.

The 8.17am Leeds to Wigan Wallgate, due at 10.40am, will be cancelled.

“This is due to the emergency services dealing with an incident,” the train company said.

“We apologise for the cancellation of this train service today, please travel on the next available service.”

The 7.17am Leeds to Wigan Wallgate, due at 9.40 has also been cancelled.

More as we get it.
