Armed officers and helicopter descended on Folkestone after a man …

Shoppers were left wondering why armed police descended on Folkestone town centre[1] yesterday (April 27). Onlookers spotted "at least six" police cars around 3pm.

The police helicopter was scrambled and sniffer dogs were pictured with officers in the high street. Rumours swirled on social media as to why there was such a large presence.

Now Kent Police have confirmed why they were there.
