Bin worker baffles onlookers as he throws woman’s entire wheelie …

A Derbyshire woman has been left baffled after one of her green wheelie bins was thrown in the back of a bin lorry by a local refuse collector.

Thinking that her bin may have been taken by mistake, it was only when she checked a neighbour’s CCTV that she discovered the binman had chucked the entire bin into the back of his wagon.

Dressed in his orange hi-vis uniform, the binman can be seen lugging the bin to the truck and attempting to causally lob it into the rubbish section of the lorry.

His aim is not the greatest and it half falls out, whereupon the worker has another go and this time he successfully deposits it into the gaping hole, where it will be crushed with all the other waste.

She told Derbyshire Live[1]: “We just went out and it had disappeared. We’ve got two green bins.

“They emptied it, put it back, then got back to get it and chucked it in the back of the lorry.

“He’d already emptied it first. It’s actually quite funny.

“But after I laughed I was fuming at the time. It’s a problem, everyone needs a bin.”

According to Amber Valley District Council, who operate in the Ripley area of Derbyshire, they had been told by contractors Norse Group that the lady in question had put out two bins on Friday 7 April, when she should only have had one.

But she claims she had paid for the extra bin.

The council spokesperson told the Daily Mail: “It appears the extra waste bin was incorrectly thrown into the back of the waste vehicle by the operative.

“This course of action is not in line with the council’s policy regarding re-using or recycling the bins.

“The council is therefore currently in contact with Norse to ensure an investigation is undertaken so that incidents of this nature are avoided in future.”

The woman has since emailed the council, but has not received a response, nor her bin back.
