Boy, 17, killed in Somerset car and lorry crash

A teenage boy died in a crash on the A37 which left the road closed for hours. Avon and Somerset Police was called to the scene in Clutton at 1.30pm yesterday afternoon (April 24) to reports of a collision[1] between a car and a lorry.

In an update this afternoon (April 25), police have confirmed that a 17-year-old boy died in the crash. Investigating officers are now asking anyone with information to come forward.

The A37 was closed in both directions as emergency services attended the scene before reopening at around 10pm. The boy’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Avon and Somerset Police[3] said in an appeal: “We are appealing for any witnesses who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.
