Caravan left completely destroyed after ‘deliberate’ fire in …
A caravan in Eastbourne[1] has been left completely destroyed following a fire on Sunday morning (April 23) that is believed to have been deliberate. The fire, which was reported at around 11.50am in Nevill Avenue, saw East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service[2] and Sussex Police[3] called to the scene.
The fire service used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to put out the fire. Sussex Police has said that the fire is “being treated as deliberate” and that “enquiries are ongoing”.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “Police were made aware of a caravan fire in Nevill Avenue, Eastbourne, around 11.55am on Sunday (April 23). The fire is being treated as deliberate and enquiries are ongoing.”

They continued: “Anyone who saw what happened or witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area around that time, is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 543 of 23/04.”
A spokesperson for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 11.50 on 23 April 2023 to reports of a caravan alight on Nevill Avenue, Eastbourne. We used breathing apparatus and hose reel to put it out. The scene was left with Sussex Police.”
No casualties or injuries were reported.
