Comedian Frank Skinner Breaks Down on Air As He Reveals Co …
Struggling for Words
During his Saturday Absolute Radio show, Frank Skinner struggled to find words as he revealed that his former co-host[1], Gareth Richards, was fighting for his life after a serious car accident. The comedian teared up while speaking to his listeners, sharing that his friend had been in a “very big road accident” earlier in the week.
Details of the Accident
Gareth Richards was involved in a severe car accident on March 27th on the M25 near Heathrow Airport. The crash involved two cars and a lorry and occurred between Junctions 14 and 15. Firefighters had to free a man from one of the vehicles, and he was treated for head and chest injuries by the London Ambulance Service. The Metropolitan Police stated that the man was in a “life-threatening” condition.
A Tribute to a Co-Host
Gareth Richards co-hosted with Frank Skinner and Emily Dean when Absolute Radio’s show first began. Skinner expressed that he did not want to do the show without mentioning Richards, saying, “He’s a fantastic bloke, and I dunno if any of you do pray, if you do, give one for Gareth this week.”
The emotional message left listeners with a heavy heart as they prayed for Gareth’s swift recovery. The Absolute Radio community has also shown their support, sending messages of love and strength to Skinner, Richards, and their families.
