Cyclist taken to major trauma centre after collision with lorry

A woman in her 40s has been taken to a major trauma centre after she was hit by a lorry while cycling.

The collision took place in Camberwell Road, Southwark, at around 11.10am today.

The woman was treated for “pelvis and leg injuries” before she taken to hospital.

The Met confirmed the driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and there have been no arrests.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 11.12am today to reports of a road traffic collision in Camberwell Road, South London.

“We sent an ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast response car. The first paramedic arrived in less than four minutes.

“We treated a patient at the scene for pelvis and leg injuries and took her to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

The Met closed Camberwell Road between Albany Road and Boundary Lane while dealing with the incident which has now reopened.
