Doctor injured in E-way car crash

The Expressway Traffic Police says that a luxury car driven by a medical doctor collided with a lorry yesterday afternoon near Weediyagoda in the Southern Expressway. The doctor injured in the accident has been admitted to the Bandaragama hospital.

According to the police, the doctor who was transferred from Karapitiya Hospital to Colombo National Hospital was on his way to report for work.

The car driven by the doctor collided with the back of the lorry which was driving from Matara towards Kottawa.

The police suspect that the accident may have happened due to the doctor who was driving the car falling asleep.
