EDITORIAL: Roll on! Our world would shut down without the goods …
Supply chain issues have been driving inflation for the last few years now, with seemingly no end in sight. And with 72% of U.S. domestic freight by weight being moved by trucks, according to the American Trucking Association, a nationwide commercial truck driver shortage is compounding that problem.
Because Texas is one of many states experiencing a shortage of truck drivers who possess a Commercial Driver’s License, we’re pleased to see our state Rep. Trent Ashby try to tap the brakes on this issue in the form of a bill he presented to the House Transportation Committee last week.
