Fallen tree completely blocks access to villages near Colchester
A country road in Essex has become unpassable due to a fallen tree, completely blocking access in either way. The tree has fallen on Dyne’s Hall Road in the north of the county today (Monday, April 10).
Dyne’s Hall Road is a country lane commonly used by people travelling between Halstead and the village of Sible Hedingham. A picture shared with EssexLive shows a large tree completely blocking the road.
Essex Highways, a sub-section of Essex County Council, have responsibility for maintaining the conditions of the roads across the county, excluding Southend and Thurrock who have their own council maintenance teams.
Essex County Council has been contacted for information on when the tree might be removed but had not replied by the point of publication. If they do, this article will be updated.
Last month a collapsed tree blocked the B1053 in Saffron Walden near Radwinter Road. The incident was one of a number involving fallen trees due to high-speed strong winds.
