Fundraiser launched after tragic death of dad at just 43
Davy Moore was a popular figure around his home town of West Kilbride and in his job as a class one HGV driver.
A fundraiser set up in his memory has collected £2,000 in less than 24 hours, with the cash going to cover the cost of laying him to rest.
Tragically Davy passed away just weeks after losing his own father, whose death came shortly after the loss of his mother.
Family friend Kerry Nimmo has set up the fundraiser drive in his honour, and says he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
She added: “As a community, we are all devastated at the sudden passing of such a larger than life character.
“Davy’s family have been through so much the last few months with the sad loss of his mum, his dad and now Davy too.
“We are coming together to help out Davy’s sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, his beautiful girls and their mum at this terrible time.
“We are hoping to raise as much as possible to help with funeral expenses, with anything left over going to Kyla and Eline.”
Kerry says Davy was loved by everyone and that his loss will be felt by all those who knew him.
She said: “He was an absolute character and we were all absolutely devastated to hear of his very sudden passing.
“Whether you worked with Davy, grew up with him or were lucky to have him as family or a friend, you knew he was all about his beautiful girls and would do anything for them and their mum.
“As well as being a father, he was a loving brother to Laura and Stephanie, and a brother-in-law to Kenny and William.”
Kerry says she has been touched by the support for the fundraiser.
She added: “We are really pleased.
“His family have had such a horrible run of tragedies recently. Hopefully this can be a small crumb of comfort to them at this difficult time.”
