Furious letter left outside park after dog water bowl stolen

A furious letter was left on a post outside a park in Whitefield over the weekend after a dog water bowl was stolen.

The bowl, usually filled with water outside of Springwater Park, had mysteriously vanished, prompting one local to leave an angry note directed at the thief.

A picture of the letter was shared to Twitter by radio presenter Emma Goswell, along with the comical caption: “It is kicking off in Whitefield”.

She told the Manchester Evening News that the bowl had been outside the park since she moved to the area last October and that she assumed it had been written by a neighbour.

The letter, whose author is not known, was written in block capitals, and read: “To the person who took the dog bowl which was here on the grass. Do you have a problem with dogs getting a drink when they are entering or leaving the park?”

It continued: “Warm weather is coming and they will really need the extra water. Or did you just like this one and thought that it would be perfect for your dog at home? Please bring it back!!!!

“If there is no other reason please leave a note here explaining your actions.”

Beneath the post, other Twitter users responded asking for further updates on the ongoing saga and for Emma to post if somebody eventually replies.

One person wrote: “You’ll have to keep us all informed if a response ends up there” as another added: “Can’t wait to see if anyone replies.”
