Glasgow M8 westbound closed as overturned lorry blocks lanes …
A section of the M8 westbound carriageway in Glasgow[1] has closed following a multi-vehicle collision including a lorry which has overturned and blocked two lanes.
It is believed that the incident was reported[2] at around 7.30am this morning near to Junction 13.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on the busy road and are currently still in attendance.[3]
Road Policing Scotland have confirmed on social media that there is an overturned lorry blocking both lanes 2 and 3.
It is currently unclear whether anyone has been injured following the crash.
They tweeted: “The #M8 West at Junction 13 is currently closed (0800 20/04/23)due to a multi vehicle RTC. An overturned lorry involved is blocking lanes 2 and 3. We will try to get a lane open as soon as possible.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.35am on Thursday, 20 April, police were called to a report of a road crash on the M8 westbound, near J13. The carriageway is closed and officers are at the scene.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
