Gogglebox’s Dave shocks Shirley with ‘euphoric’ comment watching …

Gogglebox stars Dave and Shirley made some hilarious revelations about their own personal life after being shocked at a scene from the latest Netflix erotic thriller Obsession. The stars of the Channel 4 show were not impressed with scenes from the Netflix drama, quipping that the intimate moments didn’t last very long.

Obsession is an adaptation of Josephine Hart’s novella Damage, and tells the story of a man having an affair with his son’s girlfriend. It features a number of erotic scenes.

The Gogglebox stars watched the first episode and shared their reaction with Caerphilly couple Dave and Shirley not impressed by the antics – including an intimate kiss and sex on the floor.

After one scene showing a couple kissing when they met Dave pointed out he and Shirley never greet each other like that. “Not when you’ve been cleaning toilets all day,” Shirley replied to the factory cleaner.

A later scene saw the main characters engaging in very quick sex, on a floor, seconds after meeting up.

“He’s done absolutely zero groundwork here,” Pete Sandiford said. Speaking to husband Daniel, Stephen Webb said: “I like foreplay first, don’t you?”

After the very short scene, Jenny Newbie said: “Oh, is that it?” Friend Lee Riley said: “Two minute wonder.”

Sophie Sandiford said: “Not even worth getting undressed for!”

But it was Dave and Shirley who shared the most, with a conversation about whether they have ever ‘done it’ on a floor like the couple did on screen.

Shirley said no, but Dave said they had done it on the stairs. While Shirley denied the incident and tried to shut her husband down in front of the cameras, he said she just didn’t remember because of the ‘euphoria’.

Gogglebox is on Channel 4 on Fridays at 9pm.
