Isuzu targets Ute market with ready to work range
Date: 17.04.2023
Isuzu’s light and medium trucks have been long a successfully selling vehicle for many transport and logistics businesses. The manufacturer now has its eye on Australian tradespeople looking for extra power and space for their business.
Rob Toohey upgraded to an Isuzu truck for his pressure cleaning business in Perth.
As a variety of trades push into the second quarter of 2023, Isuzu Trucks says it is once again showcasing its industry-leading Ready-to-Work (RTW) vehicles as a standout transport solution across a wide range applications and end-uses.
The benefits of Isuzu’s popular, pre-built Ready-to-Work range stretch across both light-duty N Series and medium-duty F Series models and include industry-leading warranty.
The ready to work range includes: Tipper, Tradepack, Traypack, Vanpack, Freightpack and Servicepack variants to underpin that playtime is over for traditional utes.
Isuzu says the trucks possess not only durability and reliability, but also come with Isuzu’s advanced safety technology and aftersales support.
There’s a large selection of cab chassis platforms on offer, providing a fit-for-purpose transport solution for many different trade applications.
All light-duty 4×2 N Series RTW models bear Isuzu’s intelligent Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
ADAS includes Advanced Emergency Braking system (AEB) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning system (LDW) and unique to Isuzu, the Traffic Movement Warning (TMW) feature, just to name a few.
Pioneered in 2006, Isuzu says its RTW range does it best for Australian tradespeople. Be it the industry leading three-year warranty on the body or the enormous range of drivers’ licence, two-pedal variants, Aussie tradies everywhere are realising genuine business efficiencies on offer within the Isuzu RTW range.
Amongst those is sole trader Rob Toohey from Perth who runs a pressure cleaning business and recently took delivery of an NLR 45-150 Traypack.
“I had a ute and a trailer before and it was a pain in the neck because someone would call me up and offer me a small job and I’d be thinking to myself, ‘well, that’s half an hour of work just to hook up and detach the trailer when I’m finished,’ and a lot of times I’d turn it down,” Toohey says.
“Now that I have everything in the truck, when anybody calls me with a small job, I say, ‘yeah, I can be there in 15 minutes.’ Boom, go do the job and come back. It’s brilliant.”
On the NSW-Victoria boarder 23 Carpentry continues to grow its business and truck fleet.
The business, which ranges as far south as Melbourne and north up to Sydney, has added the displacement NQR 87-190 AMT Tipper to its range of smaller NLR Tippers.
“We already had a range of Isuzu NLR Tippers, which are very convenient for the staff to drive on a car licence, but we needed something specifically to transport machinery and materials to job locations,” Managing Director Paul Seaton says.
“The NQR Tipper ticks all the boxes—it’s able to carry the load we needed and comes with a 3.8 metre tray, so we can use it for delivery to forklift material on and off.”
Up in the medium-duty segment, Brisbane-based landscaper Mariner Rood recently invested in a larger Isuzu FSR 140-260 Tipper for his Revive Landscape Construction fleet – to meet with growing demand and reduced down time.
“I can fit about seven cubic metres in each load, so that works out to four-and-a-half loads. In my old truck that would have taken 11 loads!” Rood says.
“There’s less trips and less hours you’ve got to spend on the road. That’s pretty much the reason I bought it… I go and pick up the bobcat. I can just fill the truck up, put the trailer on, chuck the machine on, and I can go home from there.”
All new Isuzu trucks within the Ready-to-Work range (with the exception of 4×4 models) are covered by Isuzu’s industry-leading 6-year warranty on the cab-chassis and 3-year warranty on the body, plus 6-years of Isuzu’s 24/7 Roadside Assist.
