Live as jackknifed lorry shuts major Yorkshire road in both directions
The A59 in North Yorkshire has been shut in both directions this morning as police deal with a jackknifed lorry blocking the road.
North Yorkshire Police announced they are currently dealing with a jackknifed HGV near Blubberhouses. Police said the road is expected to be closed until at least 2pm.
Inrix says: “A59 Skipton Road in both directions closed, slow traffic due to overturned lorry between Hardisty Hill and Meagill Lane. Incident occurred at around 07:30 which has since closed the road.”
The full tweet from North Yorkshire Police[2] said: “We’re currently dealing with an overturned HGV on the A59 at Blubberhouses.
“The road is closed and the closure is expected to be in place till 2pm. Please find an alternative route if travelling between #Harrogate[3] and #Skipton.”
